MotherOceanBlue is a purpose-driven education and advocacy organisation working to build a climate-literate, ocean-connected generation.
What can MotherOceanBlue do for you?
At the core of MotherOceanBlue is, The Ocean Academy, a 10-session, curriculum-aligned programme designed for students aged 13+. It brings together science, systems level thinking, storytelling, and earth sciences – helping young people understand how the planet works, what’s going wrong, and how they can be part of the solution.
Founded by diver, designer, and educator Zakia Rashid, MotherOceanBlue was born from personal transformation and a deep sense of urgency. It exists to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and emotional connection – knowing the facts and knowing what to do with them!
As well as working in schools, MotherOceanBlue runs workshops with businesses, community groups, and educators – combining personal development, environmental literacy, and values-based leadership. The mission is not just to deliver information, but to build confidence, agency, and belonging in a world facing ecological crisis.
By placing ocean literacy at the heart of climate education, MotherOceanBlue invites people of all ages to fall in love with our ocean – and to protect it through informed, intentional action.
